Quite the week.
So I noticed I have a problem. I never actually make time to email you
all. So once again, rubbish email... maybe I'll do better in 8 weeks.
Things that happened this week include but not limited to: service,
interviews, meal, meal, meal, meal.
I guess I'll dive into the deep end with the Thursday Friday Saturday combo.
***background info***
The last few weeks we have really struggled to set up lessons with
Antoinette. One thing or another always came up so needless to say a
tad bit stressful the last little while..!!
Thursday a nice member named Bro Hemingway was taking us out for a
meal. When he heard his favourite elder who is now an assistant (Elder
Schmidt ) would be in town, he invited them and us to his favorite
restaurant. Yummy yummy
So during interviews I was sitting with President Turvey loosely chatting about DISC behaviour profiles. He perked up and says I think Antoinette should talk to Sister Turvey. She joined when she was 15 maybe they can relate to one another! So then we switched and I was chatting to Sister Turvey and mentioned president's idea. She said, "I'd love to when are you seeing her next?".... "Well we are trying to do a video lesson right after this!!" That's perfect Elder
Fast forward about an hour. She was a little late and Sister Turvey finished interviews. The time was 8:45. She poked her head in and we had a fantastic lesson. We really just discussed the last few months and some of her FAVORITE things that have happened. Joking I said, "Hey let's go get Nando's chicken Saturday after your done work." Antoinette was excited. Sister Turvey sarcastically said thanks for the invite and poof Antoinette invited the Turveys!
Friday we had interview training. Basically the assistants train us and help us improve our skills. They did some training on how when we show gratitude we are 4-19% happier than if we do not. So there you go dad, I sent you the gratitude video because I am grateful you are my father :)
Saturday we had some lovely service. Elder Campbell and I have a skill in building something called a dead hedge. Basically poles hammered into the ground 18" apart then you weave and stack dead branches! So fun! I'll snag a pic next time we go. Some really great people I've met there!
Evening time about 7pm we had our meal with President Turvey and Sister Turvey.... don't get me started, I forgot to get a pic !!! Ugh we had Nando's chicken. It was good stuff. We talked about faith and a foundation on Jesus Christ.! HAPPY DAYS PEOPLE. THERE IS PEACE IN CHRIST!!!
Tuesday Rose Richardson (her 2 brothers are in the bishopric in Beverley) took us and a new member named Vikki for burgers!!! It seems like a ton of past lesson I've been taught flooded in. We talked about the "better-than hat" and discussed how we can better improve ministering companionship unity! I really love the members here!
Congrats to Mr. Mrs. Garry. Welcome to the fam Lyss!!!
Bye peeps

Belief is the reason we go on a mission. It is the motive for preaching about Christ and sharing/Proclaiming his love. Faith is understanding we are children of God and our Heavenly Father. May this definition of faith bless you in your life. Faith is defined again and because faith has an inherent joy it gives us a solid foundation that we finally have the peace we have been searching for.
ReplyDelete"Many believer's feed themselves on what God hasn't done. When I dwell on what hasn't happened, I create the atmosphere for the spirit of offense to arise and to thrive. When I dwell on what hasn't happened, I legitimize unbelief. I live with a sense of justification, for not believing God.
Faith in the purest sense is the ceasing of resistance. even when there's no physical evidence, when the other evidence is present. Not feeding ourselves on what God hasn't done Faith in it's purest form is the absence of resistance
Heaven is a place where everyone is celebrated, some are more honored but everyone is celebrated. All men and all women shall be judged on the light which they have received. Heaven is a permissible culture. God's nature is eternally permissible. These statements protect us from credit.
Faith in the purest sense is the ceasing of resistance, even when there's no physical evidence, when the other evidence is present. Not feeding ourselves on what God hasn't done. Faith in it's purest form is the absence of resistance. Faith doesn't deny a problems existence, it denies it's influence. He or she was someone whom aridity and desolation never disturbed for he or she had a deeply rooted, and a vigorous faith.
Now we can act as we have always dreamed. Now we can act as we have always been. Now we can step into the light and gather the sunlight instead of blocking out our possibilities. Instead of blocking out our joy. Variety will bloom in/under the sun. We can show off our best, we can enjoy other people's gifts. We can blossom where we stand upon the joy that faith provides us. Upon the joy that faith inherently has, which blossoms the entire field of flowers"
